Prayer Points

  • Praise God for the many blessings He bestowed on us in 2011. “From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people” (Psalm 3:8).
  • As we enter the coldest winter months, please pray for impoverished elderly Jews in the former Soviet Union – that warm blankets and heating grants provided by The Fellowship would reach all those in need. “Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God” (Leviticus 19:32).
  • Pray for the Ethiopian immigrants recently brought to Israel through The Fellowship’s On Wings of Eagles program, that they have the strength and support to make a successful transition in their promised land. “He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth” (Isaiah 11:12).
  • Pray for Rabbi Eckstein, that he will receive God’s guidance in directing The Fellowship’s daily operations and will travel safely as he visits Fellowship projects in Israel and around the world. “He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way” (Psalm 25:9)

At the Last Supper, in Luke 22:19,  as the Lord constituted what we commonly call the Lord’s Table, or Communion, the Lord Jesus Himself said , “…this do in remembrance of me.”  There are many things that are done in life that affect how we act or react around various people and situations.  Our memory is something that the Lord takes great concern in.  Several times in Scriptures, especially found in Psalm 119, the Lord directs us to “…hide His Word in our hearts, that we might not sin against Him;  His Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.    Verses like Joshua 1:8 (“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”) sound out loud and clear the need to keep God’s Word as the primary focus of our attentions.  When we do live by God’s Word, it will give us the directions and understanding we so desperately search for to excel in the different situations in which we find ourselves In closing, this Remembrance Day, I am very thankful for the men and women who laid down their lives to keep this country strong and free.  I am also very thankful that Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour gave His ultimate sacrifice when He laid down His life for me.   Certainly we have a God who understands what it means to sacrifice.

Serving the Lord with love and loyalty,
